I have a degree in Chemical Engineering (Universidade Estadual do Rio de Janeiro; UERJ; 1992), a M.Sc. (2004) and Ph.D. (2012) in Biological Sciences (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro; UFRJ; ). I work at the Limnology Lab in Rio since 1994. I coordinate chemical and physical analyses and projects of technological development with emphasis on the determination of environmental parameters. I am also involved in research projects, monitoring and restoration of aquatic environments in the Amazon and in coastal lagoons, with a particular interest in nutrient cycling. My main experience is in Ecology, with an emphasis on freshwater ecosystems, in topics such as nutrient cycling, carbon cycle, greenhouse gases, decomposition and quality of organic matter, chemistry teaching, management of chemical waste, popularisation of science and water quality. I also supervise masters and doctoral theses on the programs of Oceanic Engineering (COPPE/UFRJ) and Environmental Sciences and Conservation (NUPEM/UFRJ).
