Limnology studies at the National Forest of Carajás, state of Pará, Amazon


The main objective of this program is to study structure and function of local aquatic environments, such as high altitude lakes, igarapés (small streams) and reservoirs. We aim to apply the acquired knowledge to inform best practices related to conservation, management, and/or sustainable use of these systems, which are faced by the pressures of mining activity.
