I have a B.Sc. in Biology/Ecology (Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro – UFRJ; 1974), Lic. Biology (UFRJ; 1975), M.Sc. in Science and Health Education (UFRJ; 2001). I am a Professor at UFRJ, where I work with presential higher education and with distance education program, and my main experience is in Science Education with emphasis on Ecology and on the production of teaching materials for basic education. I coordinate public engagement with Science projects, working with pre-service and in-service teacher training courses to teach Ecology for teachers of the state of Rio de Janeiro. As manager, I have been vice-director (1985-1989) and director of the Biology Institute (1990-1993), Coordinator of the course on Bachelor´s degree in teacher Biology (1994) and Superintendent of Undergraduate Courses at UFRJ (2003-2007)
